The Techcross DTS DPD TRO Sensor is a residual oxidant measurement sensor designed for integration within Techcross Water Ballast Treatment Systems. Using the DPD colorimetric method, it continuously measures Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) concentrations in treated ballast water, enabling the system to verify treatment efficacy and confirm that discharge parameters remain within regulatory limits. Installed as part of the inline monitoring assembly, this sensor is a critical component for maintaining IMO BWM Convention compliance during ballast water operations onboard.
Key Features
✓ TRO measuring range of 0–15 mg/L, suited to ballast water treatment monitoring and discharge verification requirements
✓ Operates on a 24 VDC power supply, compatible with standard shipboard control panel voltages
✓ Water inlet pressure range of min. 0.5 bar to max. 2.0 bar for stable and consistent sample flow
✓ Wall-mounted installation type for secure, fixed placement within the treatment room or monitoring enclosure
✓ IP44 protection rating, providing resistance to solid particle ingress and water splashing in marine environments
Marine Applications
Continuous TRO monitoring within Techcross electrolysis-based Water Ballast Treatment Systems
Verifying residual oxidant concentration in treated ballast water prior to overboard discharge
Supporting IMO BWM Convention compliance by supplying real-time treatment efficacy data to the control system
Integration into automated ballast water management and monitoring panels onboard vessels
Direct replacement or retrofit of the DPD TRO sensor in existing Techcross BWTS installations
Why Marine Engineers Choose
The Techcross DTS DPD TRO Sensor is a purpose-built component for Techcross BWTS installations, offering a reliable, direct-fit solution for accurate TRO measurement — a parameter critical to both system performance and regulatory compliance.
Ideal For
Bulk carriers, tankers, container vessels, RoRo vessels, offshore support vessels, and any ship class equipped with a Techcross electrolytic Water Ballast Treatment System requiring TRO sensor replacement or scheduled maintenance.
